What is Mental Health First Aid (MHFA)?
Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is an evidence-based training program that equips individuals with the knowledge and skills to recognize, respond to, and support someone experiencing a mental health or crisis. In this interactive course, you'll learn how to identify common mental health challenges, understand the impact of stigma, and offer support in a compassionate and effective way. We'll cover a range of topics, including anxiety, depression, substance use, and more. You'll walk away with a five-step action plan to guide you through helping someone in need, along with plenty of resources to keep the conversation going.

Alyson has been training in Adult MHFA since 2017 and Youth MHFA since 2020. With over seven years of experience, Alyson has trained more than 500 individuals as Mental Health First Aiders, equipping them with the tools and confidence to make a real difference in their communities.
Alyson is known for creating a welcoming and supportive environment where everyone feels comfortable sharing and learning. Alyson has a knack for making complex topics accessible, blending her knowledge with a down-to-earth approach that resonates with people from all walks of life. She brings empathy, humor, and a genuine passion for mental health advocacy to every training, ensuring that you leave not only with new skills but also with a renewed sense of purpose
